When MoMA reopened its doors in 2019 after a massive renovation, among the attractions was a new café from restauranteur Danny Meyer. Located on the 6th Floor of the museum’s new wing, Terrace Café takes its distinctive feel from its Grand Antique marble countertops, commissioned artworks by Kerstin Brätsch, and canopy views of Midtown. Our logo for the restaurant was inspired by the signature “blade staircase,” designed by the architectural firm DS+R, which winds upwards through the renovated wing and delivers weary art patrons to the bright, airy terrace. The color palette takes its cues from the Italian Renaissance-inspired pigments in Brätsch’s stunning installation (if you visit, be sure to look for the dinosaurs).
